Who Are Hand Me Down?
Hello - We’re Hand Me Down. We carefully curate collections of good quality secondhand clothing in drops all based around the same theme. We want to encourage people to shop more meaningfully.
Second Hand Statement
While we do take care to make sure the items we sell are in a good condition, the nature of pre-owned clothing means the items we sell may sometimes have wear and tear. In some cases we may repair the issue and this will be highlighted in the item listing. We believe that clothing shouldn’t just be chucked out once they start to show signs of being worn and Hand Me Down is a second chance for pre-loved items.
Delivery
Delivery is free. Hand Me Down ships once a week. Hand Me Down operates on a slow fashion basis. We want your purchases to be considered. We may post more frequently but we cannot guarantee this. We hope this helps to lower the carbon footprint of your clothing.
Your items are packaged in a compostable red bag, or a cardboard envelope and a reused plastic sleeve if it's a print.
Returns
You can return an item that is still in its original condition with the swing tag attached (if applicable). We will accept returns, subject to the rules below. None of these rules affect your statutory rights.
Email us at heypalnorth@gmail.com to request a refund. If you return an item requesting a refund within 14 days of the item being delivered to you, we'll give you a full refund by way of the original payment method. Please note we can only refund the original cost of the items.
Sizing
Hand Me Down’s collections are gender neutral. Everything is measured in inches. We’ve measured what we think you'll find useful and will include it in the description. If you’d like to know any additional measurements, please contact us.
We will also include, for reference, the size the garment manufacturer has included.
As Hand Me Down grows, we intend for it to include as many sizes as possible. Please bear with us whilst we improve our sourcing.
Sustainability
As a second hand clothing shop, we are very big on sustainability. We feel that buying good quality second hand clothes is a great way to be conscious about the environment while looking good! While we do try to be as environmentally friendly as we can (compostable packaging, not shipping overseas) it is tough as a small business to be totally perfect, but it is an area we will look to improve on as the business grows.
